Custom Pipe Bending

Fitting exhaust pipes used to be a difficult job, beyond the means of many local shops. With a drastic increase in the number and variety of cars on the road, the need for specific and custom pipes has increased dramatically. With our HUTH Custom Pipe Benders, we can easily fabricate custom bends for exhausts. Call or stop by the shop for more information.

Check Engine Lights

A check engine light can mean many different things, although common offenders are a faulty oxygen sensor or a bad catalytic converter. Both of these failures will decrease your dollar’s value in the gas tank. The oxygen sensor advises your computer how much gas to give the engine and if the calculation is wrong, your car is wasting fuel.

Tires

Maximizing gas miles starts from the ground up. Tires should be properly inflated to keep the ideal amount of tire contact with the road. Be sure to inflate tires to the recommended pressure, which is found inside the door jamb, glove box, or in the owner’s manual. DO NOT inflate to the number on the tire. This is the maximum pressure, which is only used for a heavy vehicle load, such as towing or hauling cargo.

Tune Up

If you are noticing a significant decline in miles per gallon, it may be time for a tune up. A tune up includes new wires, spark plugs, and air filters, depending on the make and model of your car, but all tune ups contribute to your engine’s fuel efficiency.

Additionally, a tune up can prevent bigger problems down the road. Build up in the catalytic converter will reduce gas miles and CAUSE a check engine light. Check your owner’s manual for the suggested mileage for a tune up. If you are overdue, you may be sabotaging your gas miles.
